The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing skilled professional nursing care to assigned terminally ill patients in their place of residence, as prescribed by the physician and in compliance with the standards of the Missouri Nurse Practice Act. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
  • The evening night Hospice RNs work as a team covering all patient visit needs throughout the Mercy Hospice region through the evening and night hours.

  • RN will work four shifts per week, shifts will vary and include weekends; some self-scheduling opportunity will be available.

  • RN's shift will include completing a mix of both scheduled visits as well as crisis visits.

Position Qualifications:
  • We require a nursing degree from an accredited school.
  • You'll also need a current RN license in our state.
  • Possesses and maintains CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Must be a licensed driver
  • Preferred experience: Recent hospice or long term care experience preferred. Experience with issues related to death/dying and bereavement preferred. One year general nursing experience preferred.
  • Complies with accepted professional standards and practice. Understands Hospice philosophy; principles related to death and dying and pain management. Complies with Mercy's Health Services Hospice Health Status requirements. Has excellent observation, good nursing assessment and communication skills. Has ability to provide good written documentation in a timely manner. Is self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision. Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation and has ability to work within an interdisciplinary team.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
