OATS Bus Driver in Lincoln County

OATS drivers transport riders in a company vehicle to a predetermined destination. Drivers are an integral part of OATS operations representing our company in your community. We provide safe, reliable and courteous transportation to all. This position calls for initiative, sound judgment, attention to detail and accuracy. For many of the people you will be transporting, you aren't just a driver; you're a friend, a contact with the outside world, a lifeline.
As an OATS driver you will:

  • Comply with Federal, State, local and OATS vehicle op erating rules and regulations.
  • Assist riders of all ages and abilities; treat riders with respect, dignity and courtesy throughout the trip. Some drivers handle wheelchairs on a regular basis and must be able to follow all applicable procedures. Our drivers are required to assist all riders on and off the bus.
  • Be responsible for the excellent condition of an assigned OATS vehicle and equipment. Perform daily safety and maintenance inspections of assigned vehicle, and report necessary repairs to designated office staff. Keep assigned vehicle clean at all times, which includes performing minor maintenance, washing vehicle and cleaning interior.
  • Complete required paperwork and submit to regional office in timely manner.
  • Attend routine paid training. May attend volunteer committee meetings if applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Chauffer's license (Missouri Class E or Commercial Drivers License) with no more than four (4) points assessed.
  • Must be able to pass a U.S. Department of Transportation physical and road test.
  • Must take and pass drug screening, and undergo random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Computer skills are helpful.
  • Must be a minimum of 25 years of age.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Have a proactive, helpful, can-do attitude with the flexibility to adjust to different schedules/routes.
  • Neat, organized, able to work independently and welcoming to our riders.

This is an active job that requires many physical demands including sitting, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying.
Must be able to lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
